I’ve never done it before
but I bends into the task as if it is something
which is second nature, like breathing.
I thinks of eating, that is second nature too.
Something you do without thinking about it. I pushes
the thought away as I pulls the zipper down.
The sunlight crawls across the courtyard, slipping
shadows through the window across
the two of us. Sparrows are cheeping.
Cheep cheeep cheeep. Not mocking me,
they are just small brown birds wrapped
up in their own passions.
